Sport, Media & Marketing Undergraduate Research Showcase

The Department of Sport, Media & Marketing recently hosted the first undergraduate research showcase for the BA (Hons) in Sport Management & Coaching and the BA (Hons) in Management Practice. Final year students of both programmes displayed their research posters in the Institute's Central Services Building.

A total of 25 projects in the areas of sports and management were showcased. The projects covered a comprehensive range of subject matters, including: mental health and wellbeing in Leinster rugby; how to improve underage soccer coaching in Ireland; gender inequality in women’s rugby; recruitment and retention of volunteers in GAA clubs; assessment and protocols of concussion in the All-Ireland League and the role of pre-game nutrition and hydration.
