Sports Clubs

IT Carlow Sports Clubs provide a wide range of activities, catering for all levels of participation.  Both the recreational and competitive aspects of sport are emhasised in each club.  All clubs organise weekly activities and instruction is available from qualified coaches for all standards of skill. IT Carlow is at the forefront in inter-college sport and teams compete annually in competitions organised by the major governing bodies of sport at third level. Through this national competition structure elite performers are selected for international representation in a wide range of sports.

All sports clubs cater for all levels of skill whether a student is a beginner or an intermediate performer or at an elite level. Many informal activities such as kick boxing, sumba, and hip hop dance are as popular as the more traditional team and individual games and provide opportunities for friendship and social interaction. Apart from the health benefits of engaging in exercise there is the added bonus of learning new skills from professional coaches and the very special camaraderie, atmosphere and enjoyment that is part and parcel of IT Carlow Sports Clubs.
